The Red River Sled Dog Derby will be paying out $4,100 in purse money this year! The purse distribution breakdown is as follows:

• First Place  - $1500
• Second Place - $1000
• Third Place  - $800
• Fourth Place - $500
• Fifth Place  - $300

This is a race that mushers (and spectators) do not want to miss! Remember, the deadline to enter has been extended to February 12. The entry fee will be held at $250.00 due to prevailing economic conditions!

The musher's meeting and the pre-race banquet are Februrary 26.  The musher's meeting is at 5 pm at the Vista Inn & Suites (formerly known as the Prairie Rose Inn) located in Fargo.  The pre-race banquet is at 6 pm at the Vista Inn & Suites (formerly known as the Prairie Rose Inn).  Meal tickets for the all you can eat buffet are available for purchase for $20.00 each.  The menu is baked chicken or fish, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, toss salad, dinner rolls, and coffee.  

The finish banquet will be held at Halstad Lutheran Church on February 28 at 4:30 pm.  Tickets are available for purchase for $10.00 each.  The menu is meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggie, dinner roll, and dessert.

The pre-race vet checks will be held on February 26 1 pm to 4 pm at the Red River Emergency Animal Clinic.  Please email or call to schedule your appointment.
